Friday, June 9th brought the MGEA Board of Directors and lots of our members to the Harvest Hills Golf Course in beautiful Fairfield, Montana for our annual scholarship golf tournament.
Brent Grassman, Mountain View Co-op and Collin Watters, Montana Wheat & Barley Committee get ready for the day.
Golfers of all skill levels are welcome at the tournament, and we had folks who had never picked up a club before playing right alongside seasoned veterans. The tournament is “best ball” style, so there’s not a lot of pressure to be the next Tiger Woods. It’s just fun to play, meet new people, and make new connections.
Lee Goodman from Applied Materials shows us how it’s done.
This picture shows how good Collin is. Most people use one golf ball, he used two!
We raised quite a bit of money at the tournament, and ended up awarding $13,500 in scholarships to members (or family members) of the MGEA.
The people who received scholarships are a truly outstanding group, and we’re proud to help them on their academic journey!
We haven’t decided where next year’s tournament will be, but we would love it if you could join us for a good time and a great cause!
We’ll post the details for next year as soon as everything’s finalized.
